Coaster101 Presents Park Mania 2020: VOTE-IN Round

Once again, it’s that time of year, when college basketball fans around the country fill out their National Championship brackets in hopes that their teams “win it all” in the NCAA Basketball National Championship. Here at Coaster101, while we love a good bracket pool, we decided to have some fun with the bracket system this year, and bring back our annual bracket event called Park Mania!, (cleverly named in an effort not to get a cease and desist letter!)

This is now our fourth year of Park Mania. Defendending Champion Hersheypark, will receive a 1-seed in their region as part of last year’s Championship. Park mania was won in 2018 by Kings Island and in 2017 by Idaho’s Silverwood Theme Park. We’ve decided to keep this year’s Park Mania mostly the same, but with a few new additions to keep it interesting.

We’ve included 51 parks from across North America, divided into three 17-team geographic regions; East, Central, and West. This year, 17 international parks from Europe, Asia, and Australia have joined the bracket in the International region. Just like the real tournament, we’ve created a “Vote-In” round where 8 parks will have the chance to be voted into the final 64-park field. This year, “vote-in” rounds” will place parks on the 16, 12, and 11 lines in their respective regions.

However, instead of the parks facing off against each other, we’re going to let you, the readers of Coaster101.com decide your pick for your favorite park in North America! (Note: Parks were divided by geography, and loosely ranked on seed lines. We’re just having fun with this. PLEASE do not be offended by the rankings.)

We have updated our voting process slightly and are closely monitoring spikes in votes. We will not be reporting exact results on social media during this year’s Park Mania, and voting percentages will be hidden this year. We reserve the right to remove any potentially fraudulent votes from the results, which kind of defeats the purpose of this being fun. Bottom Line: Don’t cheat and ruin this for your favorite park and everyone else legitimately voting for them!

Each voting round will take place over several days, and the schedule will be as follows. We’ll create a post each day with new polls for voting. All voting will be done right here on Coaster101.com, and will end at approximately 8:00pm Eastern time on the specified date.

Play-In Game Voting: Saturday, March 14-Tuesday, March 17

Round One Voting: Wednesday, March 18-Friday, March 20

Round Two Voting: Saturday, March 21-Tuesday, March 24

Regional Semi-Final Voting: Wednesday, March 25-Friday, March 27

Regional Final Voting: Saturday, March 28-Tuesday, March 31

National Semi-Final Voting: Wednesday, April 1-Friday, April 3

Championship Voting: Saturday, April 4-Monday, April 6

Winner Announced: Tuesday, April 7
