Announcing the C101 Park Madness Champion
In a match-up that put a true “Cinderella” in Silverwood Theme Park against the literal Cinderella’s Castle, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, we’re proud to announce that the glass slipper fits, and the winner of the 2017 Park Madness Bracket is Silverwood Theme Park.
Located in Athol, ID, Silverwood is the largest park in the Northwest, sitting on 413 acres, and featuring more than 65 rides, shows and attractions.
In a bracket that saw more than 83,000 individual votes, the 12th-seeded Silverwood took an unconventional path to the title, defeating 5-seed Universal Studios Hollywood, 4-seed SeaWorld San Diego, 1-seed Disneyland, and 2-seed Knott’s Berry Farm to reach the semi-finals.
After a tightly contested match-up with East No. 2 Seed Six Flags Great Adventure (that alone had more votes than the 16 match-ups in round two combined), Silverwood advanced to the finals against the South 3-seed Magic Kingdom, defeating by nearly 4,000 votes.
“Thanks to Coaster101 for organizing this exciting Park Madness bracket challenge!” Silverwood General Manager Paul Norton said. “Our fan base had a blast participating and the fact that Silverwood Theme Park came in first against this tough competition is a true testament of our loyal followers. They are the true winners!”

woah! I did not expect that!!!
This contest confirms why I placed Silverwood high in my objective park rankings in the Outstanding category. My first visit last year surpassed a lot of my expectations for a small theme park. I enjoyed the wide variety of unique thrill rides, and their coasters are among the world-class ones (especially Tremors and Timber Terror). Congratulations to Silverwood!
I think that Coaster Connoisseurs just really have it out for the underdog. It surpassed many parks that are the Kings of the theme park industry.
