At least one team from Indiana will win a Championship this Spring!
We started with 70+ parks from across North America. After more than 65,000 individual votes cast, we’re ready to crown our 2024 Champion – and the first ever two-time winner of Park Mania: Indiana Beach!
Originally named Ideal Beach, Indiana began as a small lakeside beach with a bath house and refreshment stand opened by Earl W. Spackman in 1926. Since then the park has grown to 43 attractions, including multiple roller coasters — Hoosier Hurricane, Cornball Express, Steel Hawg, Tig’rr and the iconic Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain. With nearly 100 years of history, in the past few years, Indiana Beach has emerged from the ashes after APEX Parks Group shuttered the park in early 2020, and was subsequently purchased by Gene Staples and IB Parks & Entertainment, who have aimed to breathe new life into the classic park in the past few years.
The park is scheduled to open the classic Schwarzkopf All-American Triple Loop in 2024.
Thanks to a strong showing by the Indiana Beach faithful on social media, the park was able to emerge past two Pennsylvania parks in the early rounds – Kennywood in round one and Knoebels in round two. Coming up against a buzzsaw of sorts in the regional semi-final round, Indiana Beach got past Silver Dollar City, and mobilized their fans on social media once again to defeat Magic Kingdom in the Nighthawk regional final. In the semi-finals, Indiana Beach got past a passionate Cedar Point fan base, and defeated perhaps this year’s biggest surprise, Lost Island theme park (and their equally as passionate fan base!) in the final matchup.

After winning the Park Mania Championship in 2022, Indiana Beach re-joins the list of past Park Mania/Madness Champions, including Silverwood – 2017, Kings Island – 2018, Hersheypark – 2019, 2020 champion, Holiday World. 2021 Champion Carowinds, and last year’s champion, Kings Dominion!
