The Singing Mushrooms are singing “We Are The Champions!”
We started with 70+ parks from across North America. After more than 56,000 individual votes cast, we’re ready to crown our 2023 Champion: Kings Dominion!
Celebrating its 48th season in 2023, Kings Dominion opened just north of Richmond, Virginia in 1975. The park features 13 roller coasters including Twisted Timbers, Intimidator 305, and Dominator. Recently, the park opened the new “Jungle Expedition” area in the former Safari Village, which features the S&S 4-D Free-Spin Tumbili as well as the “re-themed” MACK Rides Bobsled Coaster now known as Reptilian.
After a random draw placed Kings Dominion in the “Corkscrew” region of this year’s tournament, the park was was able to outpace Frontier City in round one before the votes came in heavy thanks to a strong social media campaign. Kings Dominion proceeded to knock off SeaWorld Orlando in Round Two and their neighbors to the east, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, in Round Three, before taking down a pair of past Park Mania champions in Kings Island (2018) and Hersheypark (2019) to match up with Cedar Point in the finals. Kings Dominion was able to ride their social media wave all the way to the Championship and the much coveted Park Mania Trophy!

Kings Dominion joins past Park Mania/Madness Champions, Silverwood – 2017, Kings Island – 2018, Hersheypark – 2019, 2020 champion, Holiday World. 2021 Champion Carowinds, and last year’s champion, Indiana Beach!
