IMG Worlds of Legends is Dubai’s Next Theme Park

IMG Worlds, Dubai-based owner and operator of the new IMG Worlds of Adventure indoor theme park, yesterday announced a second theme park: IMG Worlds of Legends.

IMG Worlds of Legends will include nine themed zones spread across 2 million square feet.

Judging by the rendering above, I spot at least three roller coasters, one of which appears to be a Bolliger & Mabillard dive coaster.

The nine themed zones will featured well-known brands, such as:

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • SpongeBob SquarePants
  • Just Dance
  • Power Rangers
  • Pokemon
  • Barbie
  • Hot Wheels
  • Bob the Builder
  • Thomas & Friends
  • Dragon Ball Z
  • Cartoon Network
  • and many more

IMG Worlds of Legends, located next to IMG Worlds of Adventure, will feature “futuristic interactive rollercoasters, state-of-the-art rides, breath-taking water-based attractions, and spectacular live entertainment.”

A sky bridge will link the two parks. That bridge will double as a gateway to the park. Guests will be able to purchase tickets to each park separately or choose a multiple park pass.

The park will feature a temperature-controlled environment and retractable roof, allowing for year-round comfort of guests throughout Dubai’s varying seasons.

Commenting on the announcement, Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari, owners of the Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari (IMG) Group, said: “We are building on the success of IMG Worlds of Adventure with the next phase of growth – IMG Worlds of Legends. We are committed to bringing the boldest, most dynamic attractions to Dubai, combining innovative rides with value entertainment for the whole family.”

Lennard Otto, CEO of IMG Worlds, added:

“IMG Worlds continues to attract truly international brands to Dubai and we are now one of the principal players in the global theme park industry…IMG Worlds of Legends has beloved characters, dynamic rides, interactive attractions, and incredible architectural engineering across nine distinct zones, spanning over 2 million square feet.”

No timeline was given in regard to the park’s opening. But judging on the success of IMG Worlds of Adventure, I would anticipate construction will begin in the near future.
