Like many of you, I have been closely following the progress of Banshee on Kings Island’s website. But, last weekend I got to check it out myself! As a coaster enthusiast, it was neat to actually see construction of one up close. After being at Kings Island for the Banshee reveal in August, I was pumped to get back and see what it looked like now!
The first thing I noticed about Banshee was how massive it will be. From the way it looks, the first two inversions are going to be huge! The dive loop is going to interact with the main area of Action Zone really well. It was send riders over the pathway, allowing for great photo opportunities for spectators.
Currently, track has been laid for the lift hill, first drop, and the initial part of the dive loop. The next step will be the supports for loop that goes around the lift hill.
Here, you can see some more track ready to be laid and the beginning of the lift hill:
The Kings Island skyline sure is going to be different come next season!
From the Eiffel Tower you can see all of the construction site. This will also be a great place to come view the ride when it opens!
It’s hard to believe that next time I’m here I’ll be riding on those pieces of track!
There is still much to do on this ride, but it’s coming along fast. It will interesting to watch over the next few months as it comes together. I know I can’t wait to get on it! The only bad part is that we still have around six months until we can do it! Who else is anticipating a ride on Banshee?
