New Life for Australia’s Wonderland Sydney?

Wonderland Sydney closed its doors in April 2004 and was razed later that year, yet many locals still miss the park. According to an article in The Daily Telegraph, property developer Ammar Khan’s dream is to resurrect the former amusement park.

Khan worked at the park for nine years until it closed in 2004. The park operated for 19 years and was home to three roller coasters.

Khan expects the project to take three years to complete the first phase, which would include hotels, movie theaters, restaurants and, of course, amusement park attractions. Phase two plans include a golf course and concert venue.

Khan thinks that building a new Wonderland Sydney would provide numerous economic growth opportunities.

Khan has been working on the project since 2009. He would like to incorporate elements from the original Wonderland Sydney. I think those who were familiar with the original park would certainly appreciate that.

We wish him and his team the best as he seeks investors and continue the push to rebuild the park.
