Flying Turns, the unopened bobsled roller coaster at Knoebels, may finally open later this year or early next year after seven years of delays.
A recent article in The News Item details the progress that the park is making in bringing to life the heavily anticipated roller coaster. The coaster stands 50 feet tall and includes 1,300 feet of track. Trains reach a maximum speed of 24 mph. Construction began in January of 2006.
The park is now testing new trains on the track. Park guests have even seen the coaster testing during park hours, which was not normally done in the past. The below video shows the new Flying Turns trains completing the course.

Park officials are still not releasing an official opening date (or year), but this progress seems promising.
One plus for the extended delay: at least the roller coaster’s wood will have “aged” once the coaster opens, perhaps making the ride experience more authentic.

I would LOVE to ride this when it finally opens. I live near the form Euclid Beach Park which had one of these.
They should decorate it like the north pole and change the theme because Christmas is coming for sure. It could be a sleigh ride.
We have been camping at Knoebels for 35 Years. The annual Craft Show is next week. Looking forward to getting the gang on this ride
North Pole sounds awesome! Santa would have one heck of a ride!
