Our first story on the cantilevered coaster we interviewed the John Hogg, the inventor of this totally unique coaster concept. This interview inspired me to create a 3D computer model of the ride and I unveiled some screen shots in an earlier post. What’s the next step? Simulation of course! Making the model move has been quite challenging. When I first started I had very little experience with the kinematics workbench in CATIA, but as you can see in this series of videos I worked it out by taking baby steps. Again, keep in mind this is essentially the prototype computer model and is purely for experimentation purposes only. The final product would look much different.
What’s next? Now that our range of motion testing is complete it’s time to make some design changes to model. After that it will time to simulate again, but this time with a better car and longer length of track. Stay tuned!
So complex, yet so interesting. Again, it’s so incredible to see this concept coming to life, even through animation.
hi dear
can you please show us the detail of your joint in Catia DMU Kinematics?
thank a lot
