Michigan’s Adventure Improving Waterpark for 2017

Last week was a big week for Cedar Fair, with 9 of their 11 major theme parks (or adjacent water parks, in the case of Cedar Point and Knott’s Berry Farm) making announcements about additions for 2017. Many people were wondering if and when the two other parks — Michigan’s Adventure and Canada’s Wonderland — would be making their announcements for 2017. We now have the answer for one of those questions.

Michigan’s Adventure announced today that they are revamping their existing “Half Pint Paradise” family area inside of their water park with all new equipment, including seven new children’s slides.

The park is also adding a new Splash Pad, which will offer a variety of interactive water play features shaped to reflect a sailboat navigating through fish, a sea serpent, and other sea creatures to stimulate the imagination for kids of all ages. Dumping water structures and bubbling geysers surround the features and make playtime exciting to the delight and engagement of younger park goers.

The Beach Party and Half Pint Paradise areas will both be reconfigured so that guests can move easily between the two family play areas with improved visibility. This will offer families with small thrill seekers the opportunity to concentrate their fun into an area designed just for them.

Michigan’s Adventure is also adding additional seating with shaded areas, and new private cabanas.

The new addition to the park will also allow for a new entrance to Michigan’s Adventure’s Proslide Tornado, Funnel of Fear, making navigation of the water park easier for all visitors

Now that Michigan’s Adventure has made their announcement, all eyes are looking north to Canada’s Wonderland to see if they can help complete a full chain-wide announcement.
