It was fun to enjoy a late season visit to Europa Park, at the height of their extensive Halloween celebrations. Europa Park’s Halloween Celebration lasts from late September through to early November.
This was also a chance to stave off the forthcoming post season coaster blues.
As we stayed over the border in France, it was good to see the park well served for public transport.
The park seems to draw from a huge and cosmopolitan area. It is good to know that it can cope with the large numbers of visitors throughout the season and especially at Halloween.
It always looks pristine, as if it’s the first day of operation.
Extensive theming goes into all of the attractions here but particularly at this time of the year.
This makeover suits the Euro-Sat coaster well, don’t you think?
There seems to be an emphasis on the nicer side of Halloween within European parks, which means that all the family feel at home, without too many scares.
Lots of pumpkins and nice theming abounds
Nice early morning rides on Silver Star never disappoint.
Great to be able to get on the rides at this time of the morning. As with other major parks, queues tend to build up later in the day. But this park can handle them.
This ride really has become one of their iconic “signature” rides.
Next up , a ride on Europa’s classy GCI wooden coaster, Wodan.
This ride seems to have run in nicely and maintains the out of control, classic woodie feel of its cousins at Efteling and Toverland.
In fact, it’s somewhat of a blur, once you leave the lift.
Blue Fire sits alongside Wodan, complementing it perfectly.
The harmony between the flat rides and coasters here is quite impressive.
It seems that unique and interesting attractions are everywhere in this park; here is the fabulous Euro-Mir. Different, fun, and brilliant theming, take an ordinary ride to the next level.
Over our 36 hours here the temperature varied a fair bit.
But it’s rarely too cold for a spin on the water rides. Here “Atlantica Super Splash” lives up to its name.
My personal favourite, “Poseidon”, a Mack water coaster, which nicely combines the water and thrill ride elements.
Still, with a coaster count of twelve there is sure to be something for everyone, making it a perfect park for even the novice enthusiast.
There is also an array of great supporting attractions.
The Geister Schloss is great any time of year but especially at Halloween. Similar in scope to other GeisterBahn rides, with the continuous transport system, but unique and just a little “scary”.
The theming extends to the ride exit shop. In fact I don’t think I have ever seen a more comprehensive but affordable shopping offering anywhere.
Halloween theming is everywhere and done with real passion.
We love the vast selection of all types of rides, particularly the Sea Storm. The theme is media and rock stars.
More rides on the park’s coaster selection.
Mostly this is a park where I believe it is best to visit on two consecutive days , in order to appreciate and fully experience the coaster quality.
Europa Park has just celebrated 39 years of existence.
Cannot wait to see what they have in store for their 40th year.
A great visit to one of the world’s greatest parks.
I had been in Stuttgart for the past 2 years, 2014 – 2015 and managed to hit Europa Park 4 times. Once when they were in Horror Nights time of year. I love the themeing of the park with all the pumpkins and slightly morbid scenes as well. Next to Disneyland Paris, this was my favorite park in Europe. I love the coasters, all of them and even the cheesy themed rides. I hope to go back and visit again. I’ve got a few pages of both Disneyland Paris and Europa Park on my website and some details. Check it out. Love your site.
