Four More Six Flags Parks Adding Larson Giant Loops in 2016

Last year, Six Flags America, Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Six Flags Great Adventure all unveiled Larson Giant loops as their new attraction for 2015.

Next year, four more Six Flags parks — Six Flags St. Louis, Six Flags New England, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and the Great Escape — will all be receiving their own Larson Giant Loops.

Made by Larson International in Fairview, TX, the Giant Loop is a 7 story high version of their Fire Ball attraction that can be described as a “larger, dominating compact roller coaster.”

The 22M Giant Loop is a unique circular freestanding structure with a high capacity – high speed train. Riders hop aboard and begin rocking back and forth, gaining momentum quickly until reaching the top. The train races around the track and then stops you upside down, reverses direction, and starts all over again. The Giant Loops are capable of doing 10 rotations in one minute.

Unlike last year, where each of the Giant Loops had a different name and theme, this year — Six Flags St. Louis, Six Flags New England and Six Flags Fiesta Texas will all call their new attractions “Fireball,” while The Great Escape’s version will be known as “Greezed Lightnin'”

Both “Fireball” and “Greezed Lightnin'” will have the same ride experience.

“On this new adventure, you’ll swing back and forth pendulum style up each side of the loop, and then flip completely upside down during a series of stomach-tightening 360-degree looping revolutions. At any surprising moment, your train will suddenly change directions and send you back around full-speed in reverse. You’ll experience one gut-wrenching loop after the next with plenty of adrenaline and suspense.”
