First-Ever Cable-to-Rail Zip Line Coaster Opens in Pigeon Forge

The world’s first “cable-to-rail” zip line roller coaster has officially opened in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, at Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud Show & Adventure Park.

The Flying Ox zip line roller coaster stretches 1,000 feet long and stands 80 feet tall.

Unlike a traditional zip line that travels in a straight line, riders on Flying Ox — in traditional zip line harnesses — turn, drop and fly through the air at a top speed of 15 mph.

To engineer the new attraction, Lumberjack Feud partnered with zip line industry pros, CLIMB Works.

The Flying Ox name and theme was inspired by the history of the local logging industry. Other rides at the lumberjack-themed adventure park include an obstacle course, competitive “Logger Sports” events and an 80-foot-tall controlled jump free-fall experience.
