Kings Dominion Announces Snoopy Rides and More for 2017

Kings Dominion today announced the park’s 2017 plans: a Planet Snoopy addition with three kid-friendly rides as well as a number of in-park amenities.

The park held a live event to make the announcement — you can watch the video here.

Kite Eating Tree

Kite Eating Tree, a frog-hopper style ride that will bounce riders up and down the tower as they attempt to help fetch Charlie Brown’s kite from a tree.

Sally’s Sea Plane

Meanwhile, the whole family can hop on Sally’s Sea Plane for a magic-carpet style ride.

Peanuts 500

Lastly, parents can ride along with their kids in miniature race cars in a Peanuts-themed race track.

Pre-K Pass

The kid-friendly Pre-K Pass will offer young Kings Dominion guests ages three to five years free admission to the park in 2017, as well as one free visit this fall to enjoy Planet Snoopy’s Great Pumpkin Fest (which begins Sep. 24). Learn more and sign up for the Pre-K pass here.

Fun Pix, New App and Free WiFi

The park also announced additional park amenities: a Fun Pix digital photo pass, an updated mobile app and free in-park WiFi.

The Fun Pix pass will allow for unlimited on-ride and other in-park photos for one (undisclosed) price. The new and improved mobile app will feature live ride wait times, an enhanced user interface and more. The free in-park WiFi will be great, especially for those with limited data plans or spotty reception.

Hurler at Kings Dominion 2017

Some were hoping for an announcement regarding Hurler, the park’s wooden coaster which has been closed all season.

The final slide of the announcement presentation included the line “There’s Really More Coming!” It will be interesting to see what more Kings Dominion has up its sleeve for 2017.
