This year marks a milestone for Cedar Point’s oldest roller coaster. Blue Streak celebrated its 50th Anniversary on May 23! When it debuted, it was Cedar Point’s third and tallest roller coaster. It remained the tallest until the 1976 season when the 85 foot tall Corkscrew opened.

Blue Streak wasn’t always the color we see today, when it opened it was unpainted.
Many may not know that this coaster got its name from a local high school sports team, the Sandusky Blue Streaks.
In 2013, Blue Streak was ranked 27th in the world by Amusement Today. This classic out-and-back coaster still provides a great ride with a lot of airtime! I always make sure to ride it when I’m at Cedar Point. What are your thoughts on this old coaster?
Love this ride, it is a great classic. The air time on this ride is very surprising in a good way. I think the coaster is very re-rideable especially if you sit in the middle row of any car. A tip one of the maintenance staff told me. Btw this tip works for may different rides like magnum XL-200. Anyways great ride hope its around for another 50.
Terrible ride. Only rode it once and will never ride again.
Never rode it, but looks cool. ALSO, Cedar Point is the literal goat of any amusement parks I’ve been to.
