Orlando and Orange county firefighters were called to the park around 7:00pm eastern time, and all of the riders were off of the roller coaster by 9:30pm.

According to Universal Orlando spokesman Tom Schroeder, “park employees reassured the riders stuck on the roller coaster, explaining what was being done to get them down.”

Universal Orlando posted the following on their social media channels after the riders were down:

“We’re happy that our guests are safely off Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. We will work to understand what happened and will reopen the ride as soon as we can. Special thanks to the Orlando Fire Department for their hard work tonight.”

According to reports from twitter user @HateToFly, Rockit opened at 10:00am on October 10.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, manufactured by Maurer Söhne, opened at Universal Studios in 2009.
