Soar Above Vegas on the VooDoo Zip Line

If you’ve ever had the urge to soar above the Las Vegas Strip, your chance is coming soon. VooDoo Zip Line, Las Vegas’ first and only zip line attraction to offer breathtaking views of the world-renowned strip, is expected to open at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in early November 2013.

“VooDoo Zip Line will connect the two towers of the Rio Las Vegas. The Las Vegas attraction will begin on the 50th floor of the Masquerade Tower, and will propel riders at speeds of up to 33 miles per hour to the adjoining 20-story Ipanema Tower. Guests will make a return trip back to the starting point, traveling backwards at 20 miles per hour. The feet-dangling, adrenaline rush will accommodate two riders at once, more than 490 feet above the ground.”

Don’t worry about long lines to ride the zip line:

“To reduce unnecessary wait time, VooDoo Zip Line will allow patrons to dine, gamble and enjoy the property while waiting for their reserved ride time. An alert will be sent to guests’ cell phone when their reservation is ready. Prior to boarding, all riders will receive a safety briefing to prevent injury and allow operators to answer questions.”

“The ride is going to bring a completely new level of excitement to the Rio,” said Kevin Donnelly, director of hotel operations. “Guests will be able to experience the fascinating views that the Rio is best known for from a whole new point of view – more than 400 feet above ground and going faster than 30 miles an hour. Day or night, this ride should definitely be on the bucket-list for tourists and locals alike.”

The zip line will be open to the public from noon to midnight daily beginning early November; only patrons 21 years of age or older will be allowed to ride after 8:30 p.m. Admission is $24.99 per person (plus service fees) from noon to 5:30 p.m. and $37 per person (plus service fees) from 5:30 p.m. to midnight.
