Universal Orlando adding 1,000 Room Resort in 2016

With no big announcement save for a twitter post and press release, Loews Hotels and Universal Orlando have announced that a new resort hotel is coming to the Universal Orlando Resort in Summer of 2016.

Guests are encouraged to “enjoy a colorful and casual Caribbean hideaway” at the new Sapphire Falls Resort.

From the official Sapphire Falls page on the Loews Hotels website:

“Soak up the sunny island vibe in a festive, laid-back environment that blends tropical styling with modern touches. Offering 1,000 guest rooms and suites, the hotel is built around a lush, tropical river and a towering waterfall.”

Sapphire Falls Resort will feature a scenic restaurant with water views, a river style pool with a water slide, cabana rentals, and a white sand beach.

It is also mentioned that Sapphire Falls Resort guests will have early park admission. Universal Express, complimentary with your stay at Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific Resort, and Portofino Bay Hotel, is not mentioned.

Guests can access the park via shuttle bus or water taxi, meaning the hotel will be connected to the park’s existing water taxi system.
