Carowinds to Upgrade Entrance Plaza for 2015

Yesterday, Carowinds made the announcement for their 2015 Project, “Fury 325.” While the towering B&M Giga Coaster will certainly affect the skyline and landscape of the park, Carowinds is making several other improvements to the park’s parking gate and main entrance as well.

One of the first things guests driving into Carowinds will notice is that the parking toll booth has been relocated, and redesigned, giving Carowinds a grander entrance. Gone are the open air stalls and red-light announcement board with a walking bridge overhead, instead, a nine-lane toll plaza with enclosed booths and a large “Welcome to Carowinds” graphic will greet guests as they enter the park.

Construction has already begun on the new toll booth. It will be located to the right of Carowinds current entrance road.

In addition to the parking structure, Carowinds main entrance will also be receiving a face lift for 2015.

Construction is already well underway for the new entrance plaza, and there are signs everywhere that ask Patrons of Carowinds to “Pardon Our Dust”
