Lake Compounce is getting ready to kick off a new season in 2024, which includes a retracking of their classic Wildcat. According to the park this year, its growl is about to become louder than ever. The era of the Wildcat is about to arrive at Lake Compounce. The park teamed up with The Gravity Group to install their gravity grid patented pre-cut vertically stacked track.

The Wildcat this year is getting about 800 feet of new track. The ride itself has about 2,700 feet of track, so that is roughly 30% of the ride is being replaced. Besides being smoother, the ride may potentially be running a little bit faster. From the way it looks on the retrack map, it looks like the track was replaced from the first turnaround to the beginning of the second turnaround, then the bunny hills in between its second and third turnarounds. Pictures released from the park show portions of the ride have been restructured to include additional supports as well as some turns having added additional banking. According to The Gravity Group, this new track will be stronger and easier to maintain than the original.
Testing is scheduled to begin as early as next week, with the ride opening along with the park on April 27th. Wildcat isn’t the only improvement the park has made this off-season. They’ve got a whole lineup of exciting updates and improvements across the park, which further commits to their ongoing park-wide improvement project.

The park has also been busy enhancing the award-winning Boulder Dash roller coaster with over 1,000 feet of Steel Titan Track by Great Coasters International, adding a lineup of seasonal events, from Kids Fest featuring meet and greets with exclusive characters like Pete the Cat to the return of their Summer Concert Series featuring nationally touring tribute acts and all-new Beach Bashes.
Not only is Lake Compounce upgrading rides and festivals, but they are also elevating their food and beverage experience by taking dining to new heights with exclusive menu offerings at Johnny Rockets, Timberjack Chowhouse, Potato Patch, and more.
