Hersheypark Tops Off Candymonium at 210 Feet

Hersheypark yesterday installed the topmost section of track of its new-for-2020 Candymonium hypercoaster. The Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) hyper coaster towers 210 feet above the park.

The Hersheypark Construction Services team carefully hoisted the surprisingly lengthy last section of the lift hill into place.

The precision needed for track alignment alone is daunting enough.

I can’t even imagine doing so while suspended 21 stories in the air.

It’s all downhill from here — for now.

Candymonium is Hersheypark’s 15th roller coaster and will be the tallest, fastest and longest at the park when it opens in the summer of 2020: 210 feet tall, 76 mph and 4,636 feet in length.

When complete, Candymonium’s out-and-back layout will span 7 acres of the park.

The coaster will anchor the park’s also new-for-2020 Chocolatetown area, which will function as the park’s new entrance area.

Candymonium and the 23-acre Chocolatetown area represent the park’s largest expansion and a $150 million investment.
