Dollywood to Debut Great Pumpkin LumiNights Event

Dollywood unveiled plans yesterday for the Great Pumpkin LumiNights event, which will feature thousands of glowing pumpkins in the Timber Canyon area of the park along with new family-friendly, pumpkin-themed activities.

Great Pumpkin LumiNights is part of Dollywood’s annual Harvest Festival, which now extends into the night thanks to the twinkling pumpkin spectacular:

Families will bask in the glow of thousands of intricately-carved pumpkins as they wander through immersive harvest-themed displays throughout Dollywood’s Timber Canyon. Beyond the impressive displays, guests can find a number of exciting activities to create thrilling memories together. With so many carved pumpkins needed to create Great Pumpkin LumiNights, Dollywood has a number of “pumpkin artists” who will host demonstrations to help guests learn how to produce the perfect pumpkin masterpiece.

The event will also feature roaming pumpkin-inspired characters, a children’s nighttime glow maze, glow-in-the-dark face paintings and other activities for younger Dollywood guests.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Dollywood event without some amazing food.

The Great Pumpkin LumiNights event will feature pumpkin funnel cakes, caramel apple sundaes and candy corn cotton candy.

This season marks the first time that Dollywood has opened every day — and stayed open after dark — during the Harvest Festival.

Dollywood’s Harvest Festival and Great Pumpkin LumiNights runs from September 29 through October 28 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. But I still recommend checking the park’s operating calendar for updated open and close times.

I have never been to Dollywood, but I want to there when I get a job and can pay for my own trip.
