Attractiepark Slagharen in the Netherlands announced this week that the park will open Gold Rush, a Gerstlauer launched Infinity Coaster, in 2017.

Themed after the California Gold Rush of the 1800s, Gold Rush will stand nearly 102 feet tall and will feature three linear synchronous motor (LSM) launches: two forward and one backward — reaching a top speed of just under 56 mph.

The track will stretch roughly 1,300 feet long (but with the forward and reverse launches, the train will traverse more track in one cycle).

The coaster will feature two inversions: a new “sling loop” (similar to a sidewinder) and a dive loop.

The coaster’s train will seat 20 riders in five rows of four. See Gold Rush in action in the animation below:

Gold Rush is expected to open in the spring of 2017. It will replace the park’s Thunder Loop steel coaster, which will close in October.
