Lake Winnie outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee, this year debuted Twister, a Moser Rides’ Maverick model that is everything you know and love about the top spin — and then some.
The “Maverick” model (or this variant of the model) features a 21-seat gondola that flips riders upside down in unexpected directions thanks to two asymmetric arms..
What initially looks like a standard top spin quickly transforms into a twisted robotic contraption that turns guests in nearly every which way imaginable. I didn’t time it, but the ride cycle seemed longer than typical top spin attractions.
So if flipping is your thing, Twister is the ride for you.
While I didn’t ride (head over heels over head over heels isn’t quite my cup of tea), watching the ride was definitely fun. And it seemed to be a hit with the crowds: both riders and non-riders alike.
