What’s ahead in Europe in 2016

After a fleeting festive season, it’s time to have a brief look at what’s arriving on the continent this coming year, and hopefully anticipate some gems in there.

Maybe the most anticipated additions will include Taron, and Raik at Phantasialand, Germany. The double whammy of Intamin multi launched coaster and what is believed to be a junior boomerang  to complement it, should be a great attraction when it debuts, after extensive construction and theming work.

Back in the U.K. the major roller coaster construction is underway at Paultons Park in Hampshire, where Vekoma are supplying a family boomerang coaster Raptor, pictured, and a family suspended, Flight of the Pterasaur.

That this small park is making such an investment in a relatively quiet year for the U.K. is for me quite a statement.

Staying in the south, Thorpe Park is teasing their new immersive psychological attraction for 2016.

Conceived by magician and illusionist Derren Brown the attraction promises to take theme park guests to new and ground breaking experiences.

The Walibi group of parks are also bringing new coaster thrills to Europe in 2016 with no less than three unique  installations; including the Gravity Group wood coaster at Rhone-Alpes;  Pulsar , a Mack Power splash ride will debut at Walibi Belgium.

In addition Walibi Holland will also be home to a new coaster, details as yet not released by the park.

For me one of the most interesting additions will again be a wooden coaster, this time from Great Coasters, Heidi, another amazingly installation which will combine an exceptional ride design with an attraction which can be enjoyed by all ages. Similar in design to Florida’s famed White Lightning at Fun Spot.

Whilst this is only scratching the surface of new rides being introduced to the continent this year, please let us know which ride you are most looking forward to this coming summer.
