The Northern California region of American Coaster Enthusiasts recently shared an excellent on-ride video of Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk’s Undertow coaster. The opening of the Maurer Söhne spinning coaster was delayed, but it’s now thrilling riders at the ocean-side park.

The coaster replaces the Hurricane coaster, which closed in September of 2012.
Undertow riders spin through 1,410 feet of track. The coaster stands 50 feet tall and reaches a top speed of 40 mph, all while providing beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean.
