We’re looking for one or two extra pairs of hands around the Coaster101 office. We want to branch out to different parts of the coaster world, and what better place to look than our diverse and growing reader base.
Writing for Coaster101 is relatively easy. We ask that you contribute on a semi-regular basis (at least once a month–we like knowing that our team members are still alive). While writing for the blog isn’t a paid job, our writers are often invited to media preview events which do usually include a number of perks. I’ve also been told that our annual Christmas party in the break room is wildly entertaining.
If you have a passion for writing and a bigger passion for roller coasters and the amusement industry, we’d like to get in touch with you. Listed below are the current positions that we have open, and conveniently located at the bottom of this post is the application form. See if any interest you:
Writer
We ask that a writer contribute at least 2 articles, reviews, interviews, trip reports, or other updates each month. Obviously, a writer would be expected to use proper grammar. A writer should visit at least one amusement park each year. If possible, please include a link or a sample of previous work when applying. Aspiring writers…build your clip file as a Coaster101 writer!
California Correspondent
We need more representation in the state of California. The California Correspondent would need to have the capability to visit at least some of the major parks in California (Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott’s Berry Farm, etc.) on a semi-regular basis. The California Correspondent will be responsible for periodic updates of goings on at those parks. Access to a camera is a must for this position.
Social Media Manager
Like social media? So do we, although we could use an extra hand with our presence on social media outlets. The Social Media Manager’s role would be to actively update our social media accounts. Luckily, a large part of this is automated, but we still need someone to assist in engaging and interacting with our readers. This position would be an excellent résumé builder.
