Orlando 2010: SeaWorld Trip Report

SeaWorld Orlando was our next stop on our Orlando trip. Not having been to the park in over 17 years, I was looking forward to the seeing all of the changes and expansions that have taken place since that visit.

While the day ended on a great note – the original one-train operations made for long lines on the park’s two biggest coasters: Manta and Kraken. The park’s atmosphere, lush landscaping, and incredible animal shows really make SeaWorld a world-class theme park (and the great coasters help, too).

Manta stands tall over the park as it invites guests into the park.

Looks like the crowds followd us here from Magic Kingdom.

Manta features beautiful signage that stands adjacent to the ride’s entrance.

However, after seeing Manta’s hour-long wait, I decided to head to the back of the park to check out the park’s other attractions.

Kraken did not disappoint! The ride was smooth and seemed to keep its speed throughout the entire course.

It wouldn’t be a trip to SeaWorld without some fish!

I don’t want to mess with this guy!

I wonder if dolphins have a firm grip…

It’s hard to get an upclose shot of Kraken’s first half. It’s best to back up a bit to get a better shot.

Believe was an amazing show! These whale’s are pretty talented!

“Hold it… hold it…”

After believe we took the Tower to get an overview of the park.

The tower gives you a great view of the park’s signature attractions.

The second half of Manta which features the unique water element.

The first half of Manta is quite twisted!

Now here’s a better shot of Kraken!

Journey to Atlantis can be seen here with Aquatica across the street in the background.

Something’s about to make a wave!

Kraken’s impressive logo.

Time for a flat spin!

That’s quite a climb they’ve made!

Shamu Express. Basically, it’s a coaster themed to a killer whale. Shouldn’t a killer whale coaster be somewhat large? Just a thought!

Squirrels run wild at SeaWorld!

A Manta ride is a great way to end the day at SeaWorld.

Goodbye, Manta!

Goodbye, SeaWorld! Thanks for a great day!
