Before there was Six Flags Astroworld, there was just Astroworld. The park opened in 1968 and sadly closed in 2005. These pictures are from 1971.
Several characters would roam the parks making for several photo ops.
I’m guessing this is an aardvark.

Thanks for the photos! I loved Astroworld. My season pass was my most prized possession. Ahh, the days of Boogie Fog Disco. I remember that roller coaster that went up the tree. I seem to remember that someone was decapitated on it. Anyway, thanks for the memories!
