The Koch family that owns and operates Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana may have their eyes on Kentucky Kingdom, the Courier-Journal reports.
The Koch family issued a statement to InsiderLouisville.com that said:
“Over the years, the Kochs have explored numerous opportunities for growing their business. When Kentucky Kingdom’s lease was not renewed, the Kochs expressed interest in learning more about options for the park’s future. The process is still in the fact-finding stage; no decisions have been made by the Kochs whether to further pursue this opportunity.”
It’s nice to see the family is interested. I believe both of these parks would be able to coexist if managed correctly. And who knows managing a family-owned park better than the Koch’s? It will be interesting to see this story develop.
