A-Z Coaster of the Week: Quantum Leap, Sochi Park Adventure

Привет из России!

Our “Q” Coaster comes to you from Sochi Park Adventureland, aka the “Russian Disneyland” or “Putin-world,” in Sochi, Russia as we highlight the Vekoma “Giant Inverted Boomerang” coaster, Quantum Leap.

Though the coaster has not opened to the public, the Sochi Park Adventure touts “Quantum Leap” as “a thrilling ride which casts doubt on the gravity! The highest (59 meters) [193+ feet] and fastest in Russia extreme coaster ( 105 km / h ) [65mph].” It is one of two roller coasters at Sochi Park Adventure.

The ride, which is similar to the former Déjà Vu coasters at Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags Great America, and Six Flags Magic Mountain (Now Sky Mountain at Miribilandia, Aftershock at Silverwood Theme Park, and Goliath at Six Flags New England, respectively) Features a reverse vertical lift out of the station, a release into a vertical drop back through the ride’s station, a cobra roll and loop, before ascending to a forward-facing vertical position, and conquering the whole track in reverse. The type of coaster typically features one train with 32 passengers (8 rows of 4).

Sochi Park Adventure land will open next month to the public, and will have a grand opening in June. For more information on the park, please check out http://www.sochipark.ru/en
