Fast & Furious Coaster Construction Begins at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood has announced the start of construction on its long-awaited roller coaster themed to the Fast & Furious film franchise.

In a news release from the park, the Fast & Furious coaster will be “equipped with a state-of-the-art ride system uniquely created to engulf guests within the dynamic Fast & Furious universe…”

The park did not reveal additional specifics about the coaster or its projected opening date.

The Fast & Furious-themed coaster “will benefit from Universal Destinations & Experiences’ decades-long expertise in revolutionizing the development of the contemporary roller coaster across its global theme park destinations.”

The coaster will not be the first Fast & Furious attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood. The theme park currently offers the “Fast & Furious – Supercharged” experience as part of its “The World Famous Studio Tour” attraction. The experience allows guests to ride along with the cast from the Fast & Furious films on an exhilarating and immersive high-speed chase using 3D-HD imagery projected onto the world’s most expansive 360-degree screen.

Early concept renderings of the coaster were shared online last year, but the park as of this posting has not released any imagery of the coaster.

Stay tuned!
