Universal Orlando to Add 1,800 Guest Rooms

If this is what they’re calling a “value” resort, then sign me up! Universal Orlando announced today that they will be adding 1,800 rooms in 2014 as a part of the Cabana Bay Beach Resort. See below for some beautiful renderings of the retro-themed resort:

A statement from the resort reads: “Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is scheduled to open in 2014 at Universal Orlando Resort. With a hip, vintage look, the resort will offer 1800 on-site rooms – including 900 family suites and 900 standard guest rooms – adding high-quality, high-value options for families wanting an affordable on-site experience. ”

Universal states that the resort will be conveniently located within the Universal Orlando Resort: “The hotel will be built on a 37-acre site within Universal Orlando Resort and adjacent to Universal’s Islands of Adventure – just off Hollywood Way and Turkey Lake Road. Site work will begin soon. Pricing information, opening timeframes and room on-sale dates will be released over time.”

I for one cannot wait to see how this turns out. Hopefully it will result in even more guests staying onsite to enjoy the resort. What are your thoughts? Would you like to stay at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
