Coaster101 took advantage of the fabulous weather on Sunday to visit Halloweekends at Cedar Point! This was my first time back for Halloweekends since 2005. We did two of the haunted houses and walked through four of the outdoor walk through “scare zones.” Here are a few notes/comments/observations/thoughts about my visit and, of course, pictures. Enjoy!
- Maverick’s restraints get a lot of complaints because of the over the shoulder harnesses. I have no problem with that part, it’s the lap bar which is the real ride killer. It pins you in your seat, cutting off circulation in your legs and preventing you from feeling any of that glorious airtime.
- Millennium Force at night in the fog is amazing. Not quite as good as Voyage at night, but it’s still pretty sweet.
- Cedar Point really needs to better respect guest’s time. If an attraction is supposed to open at 7pm, open it at 7pm, or at the least have an attendant or sign notifying the people waiting that the attraction won’t be ready until 8pm. Common courtesy.
- Best part of the haunted attractions is watching other people get scared and jump away from all of the monsters.
- Terror Island was a really cool scare zone for me because throughout most of the attraction I really had no idea where I was in relation to the rest of the park. I could hear Millennium Force roaring by overhead by I couldn’t see it because of the thick layers of fog.
- Most of the monsters in the haunted houses and scare zones do a really phenomenal job. Props to you guys. Well done.
