Adventure Port’s backstory revolves around an ancient civilization and its present-day status as a “hub for explorers searching for the lost city’s forbidden temple, fabled riches and mysterious wonders.”

Let’s take a look at what you can expect to find inside the new Adventure Port area:

Adventure Port Rides

Adventure Port is home to three rides, two of which are new while the other is a renovated classic:

Adventure Express

Adventure Express is an Arrow Dynamics mine train coaster that opened in 1991. Standing 63 feet tall and reaching a top speed of 35 mph, the coaster features two lift hills and multiple tunnels along its 2,963-foot-long course. The coaster’s existing thematic elements were enhanced as part of the Adventure Port upgrade.

Riders will embark on a surprise treasure-hunting mine train expedition in search of a Forbidden Temple. This family coaster opened in 1991 and features a 63-foot first drop with speeds up to 35 m.p.h. The queue line has been relocated and riders will find additional theming in the load station and throughout the ride.

Sol Spin

Sol Spin is a Zamperla Endeavour model:

This immense golden sun disk may hold the secrets of the lost city. Riders board open-air, suspended passenger vehicles and experience the sensation of flying 60 feet through the air at 25 mph.

Cargo Loco

Cargo Loco is a teacups-like ride that allows guests to control the spin of their barrels:

Their methods might be a little dizzying, but the Arrow Cargo Company will get your gear from Point A to Point B….eventually. Riders board these shipping barrels where they can manually control the speed of their spin with a wheel in the middle of the barrel.

Adventure Port Food and Drink

Park guests exploring Adventure Port will also find Enrique’s restaurant and the Mercado Patio Bar, which offer adventure-themed food and beverage options.

Enrique’s

Enrique’s is a quick-service restaurant offering burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, salads and sides.

Mercado Bar

Mercado Bar is a full-service bar offering wine, spirits, craft beer and frozen drinks.

“Cultures come together at the Mercado, a melting pot where guests simply celebrate being alive. Whether you’re an explorer just passing through, or a tourist checking out the local scene, the local purveyor is your source for dining, drinking, cargo transport and more.”

“Over the past several months I’ve been truly amazed to see how this area of the park has been transformed into telling an immersive story of adventure and exploration,” said Mike Koontz, Kings Island vice president and general manager.

“The rides we’ve added are a perfect complement to the park’s offerings, and we took advantage of the new area to continue to showcase the quality of our food and beverage offering.”
