Valravn, Cedar Point’s new-for-2016 Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) dive coaster, isn’t scheduled to open until May 7. But the coaster has already reached its tallest point — so it’s all…downhill…from here.
Prep work and construction began months ago to beat the often-brutal winter conditions.
A giant crane hoists one of the massive track sections into place, although at this point there was still a little ways to go.
However, the pinnacle of the coaster’s lift hill was raised into position.
Valravn’s lift hill peaks at 223 feet, making it the tallest B&M dive coaster in the world.
Closer to the ground, the bottom of the coaster’s 214-foot drop is complete. Valravn’s trains will reach a top speed of 75 mph at this point.
The coaster’s brake run leading into the station is also finished.

Hopefully it won’t be long until Valravn’s drop and inversions are complete. Stay tuned!
