Comprehensive List of Disney Parks Announcements from D23 2026
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is once again giving us a look at what’s next for Disney theme parks and experiences around the world. The multi-day event is Disney’s flagship fan convention, bringing together Disney fans, filmmakers, Imagineers, artists and executives for a behind-the-scenes look at what’s coming across the company’s entertainment and theme park businesses. For us theme park enthusiasts, the Disney Experiences presentation has become one of the most closely watched events on the theme park calendar, with announcements offering a glimpse into the future of Disney Parks.
Below is a running list of all the Disney Parks announcements made during today’s presentation. While most of these attractions and experiences were first announced during the D23 event in 2024, we now have much more concrete details about many of them.
Now let’s dive into what all was announced at D23 2026:
Villains Land at Magic Kingdom
Disney confirmed that the new Villains Land at Magic Kingdom will feature two major attractions. The land’s original story will center on a corrupted wishing well whose dark magic has attracted Disney villains, who have used its power to create their own lairs throughout the area.
Maleficent Coaster — While a coaster was shown in the land’s original concept art, we didn’t know for sure that one would be included in the land. On Maleficent, guests will race through the enchanted briar surrounding her mountaintop fortress.

Disney says the coaster will incorporate elements that Imagineers have not previously attempted on similar attractions.
Mirror Realm Dark Ride — The second attraction will be a dark ride hosted by the Magic Mirror, taking guests into a mysterious Mirror Realm filled with Disney villains. The experience will combine physical sets and special effects to bring the villains and the realm beyond the mirror to life.
Piston Peak (Cars Land) at Magic Kingdom
Disney revealed new details about the Cars-themed Piston Peak National Park, part of the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom’s history. The area will bring a fictional national park inspired by the Rocky Mountains and American national parks to Frontierland, with rugged mountains, waterfalls, rivers and geysers surrounding two new attractions.

Cars Ridge Run Rally — Cars Ridge Run Rally will be an off-road racing attraction featuring a new ride vehicle designed with tires and suspension that physically react to the terrain. The course will take guests through Piston Peak’s wilderness, including a climb to a snow-covered mountaintop, a camelback descent, a geyser field and a final sprint past Lightning McQueen and Mater.
Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along — Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along will be the second attraction in Piston Peak. Inspired by Cars 3, the ride will feature Miss Fritter as a school-bus-sized Audio-Animatronic hosting a demolition derby.
Piston Peak’s Frontierland Setting — Piston Peak will continue the western storytelling of Frontierland, with its landscape inspired by the American national parks. The area will include a visitor lodge, Ranger HQ and trails, with Imagineers using a National Park Service-inspired architectural style known as “Parkitecture” to integrate the buildings into the surrounding wilderness.
Disneyland’s Tomorrowland to be Reimagined
A reimagined Tomorrowland is coming to Disneyland with a transformation designed to preserve the land’s original legacy while introducing new experiences for future generations. Once complete, the area will include new attractions, more open spaces and new places for guests to explore. Disney says the project will restore the themes of optimism, innovation and possibility that have defined Tomorrowland since Disneyland opened in 1955, though specific projects and a timeline have not yet been announced.
Monstropolis to Open in 2027 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney announced that portions of the new Monstroplis area will open in 2027. The expansion will introduce guests to the monster world through H.U.M.A.N. Day (“Humans Understanding Monsters Are Nice”), a celebration marking the first official invitation for humans to visit Monstropolis.
While construction continues on the Monsters, Inc. door coaster announced at the D23 event in 2024, Disney has revealed several experiences that will open in 2027, including a new theater show, restaurants, shops and the Monsters University Alumni Club.
Below are details about each of the new experiences:
Glob Theater — The Glob Theater will host a new show called Welcome to Monstropolis, where Mike and Sulley will introduce human visitors to the monster world. Sulley has prepared a small show, while Mike has planned additional surprises.
Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza — Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza will serve pizza in Monstropolis, offering a new dining option for human visitors. The restaurant is named after Archie, the six-legged mascot of Fear Tech who became popular with students at both Fear Tech and Monsters University.
Monsters University Alumni Club — The Monsters University Alumni Club will give guests a look at the university’s student clubs, fraternities and sororities. The location will also include the Scarer’s Club, honoring legendary scarers from the university’s history.
Scareporium — The Scareporium will be Monstropolis’ dedicated merchandise location, offering souvenirs for human visitors.
Harryhausen’s Restaurant — Harryhausen’s Restaurant, inspired by the restaurant featured in Monsters, Inc., will return as a dining location in Monstropolis. The restaurant will feature a new Audio-Animatronic version of its famed sushi chef and a menu that goes beyond sushi.

The ride will use a new flume system with three slopes and a 52-foot drop, along with Audio-Animatronics and special effects. The attraction will be located beneath a 120-foot-tall Pride Rock and will anchor the new land, which will also include dining, shopping and character experiences.

The ride will feature Miguel, Dante, Héctor and other characters from Coco, with the story emphasizing the film’s music, Mexican culture and family themes. It will have no height requirement, making it accessible to the whole family. Encanto voice actors Stephanie Beatriz, Jessica Darrow and Diane Guerrero will reprise their roles as Mirabel, Luisa and Isabella. Disney also announced El Carrusel de los Animalitos, a new carousel featuring 22 hand-carved Disney and Pixar animal figures, as part of the 11-acre Tropical Americas expansion.
