The Six Flags Great Adventure 2026 season will include the debut of Shoreline Pier, a new area with a roller coaster, flat rides, live entertainment and dining.
In a news release, Six Flags describes Shoreline Pier as a “vibrant new rides area inspired by the electricity, nostalgia and unmistakable charm of New Jersey’s iconic seaside piers.”
Opening in late spring 2026, Shoreline Pier is part of an ongoing transformation of the park’s Boardwalk area and will bring together family-friendly attractions, classic boardwalk food and a “dynamic coastal atmosphere pulsing with color, motion and energy.”
Shoreline Pier captures the feeling of a summer night down the Shore with music drifting across the midway, lights dancing through the air and rides spinning against a glowing skyline.
New Rides at Six Flags Great Adventure at Shoreline Pier 2026
The Shoreline Pier area features five attractions (four of which are new to the park):
Barrels O’ Fun
Barrels O’ Fun is a spinning family coaster with “wooden barrel-inspired cars that dip and twist like bobbing buoys on the surf.”
Barrels O’ Fun is believed to be the former Rajin’ Cajun coaster at Six Flags America, which closed in 2025. The Reverchon-manufactured spinning coaster previously operated under the same name at Six Flags Great America from 2004–2013.
Flying Scooters
Shoreline Pier will also feature a classic “flying scooters” flat ride, which is also believed to be relocated from Six Flags America.
Wave Swinger
The Wave Swinger attraction is also believed to be relocated from Six Flags America, where it was known as the Flying Carousel.
Hypno Twister
The Hypno Twister, a Zamperla NebulaZ flat ride, offers “dazzling spinning ride filled with vibrant lights, rotating motion and bursts of airtime.” It previously operated as SteamWhirler at Six Flags America.
Super Roundup
The park’s existing Swashbuckler ride is being relocated to Shoreline Pier and will be renamed “Super Roundup.”
Shopping and Snacks at the Shoreline Pier
Shoreline Pier will offer guests a variety of boardwalk-inspired food throughout the area, featuring “savory favorites and indulgent treats that are messy, melty and unmistakably Jersey.” They include:
- Fresh-cut fries served hot with bold dipping sauces including sriracha, curry and bay ketchup
- Jersey-style disco fries topped with melted mozzarella and rich brown gravy
- Classic corn dogs and the signature Gabagool On-a-Stick finished with hot honey
- Over-the-top funnel cake creations including the Triple Blueberry Roundup and the Holey Cannoli
- Chocolate-dipped fruit and other classic boardwalk sweets perfect for grab-and-go moments
- Rita’s Italian Ice featuring more than eight flavors made fresh in the park
Additionally, the area will include new retail offerings nearby with pier-inspired merchandise and coastal keepsakes.
Live Entertainment in Shoreline Pier
New live entertainment will also fill the Shoreline Pier area. On select dates and times, guests can see:
- Towering stilt walkers roaming the midway and interacting with guests
- Live musicians bringing the sounds of the Shore to life with upbeat, summer-inspired sets
- Roaming performers delivering playful, spontaneous moments between rides
Boardwalk Nights
At night, The Boardwalk will transform into a vibrant nighttime experience with Boardwalk Nights, a new limited-time summer event featuring:
- Electrifying stage performances featuring singers, dancers and acrobats
- Exclusive Boardwalk merchandise available only during the event
- Music, lighting and live entertainment that transform the area into an immersive after-dark scene
Event dates will be announced soon.
