Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Opens Summer 2026

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will open summer 2026, Universal Studios Hollywood announced today.

The Intamin spinning multilaunch coaster, themed to the Fast & Furious film franchise, will reach a top speed of 72 mph along its 4,100-foot-long course.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be located on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood. The coaster’s station will be located inside an expansive red brick, garage-like structure.

According to a news release from Universal Studios Hollywood, the coaster’s “360-degree rotation technology is designed to create a seamless sensation of drifting cars as guests spin in motion at speeds up to 72 mph, while careening along 4,100 feet of elaborate aerial track — the equivalent of nearly 12 football fields — that winds its way over sections of the theme park, including the multilevel Starway escalator that connects the Upper and Lower Lots.”

Universal also released a short advertisement showing additional animation of the coaster in action, fittingly narrated by Fast & Furious actor Vin Diesel:

That spot will air during several upcoming high-profile broadcasts, including the Winter Olympics, Super Bowl LX, and the NBA All-Star Game.

Universal Studios Florida last month announced it too will receive a Fast & Furious coaster of the same style, which is set to open in 2027. It’s replacing the park’s former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster, which closed in 2025.
