Six Flags Qiddiya City Celebrates Grand Opening
After years of concept art and construction updates, Six Flags Qiddiya City opened to the public on December 31, 2025, with much fanfare — both ending 2025 on a high note and kicking off 2026 with a built-from-the-ground-up theme park with a roster of record-breaking rides and attractions.
First announced in 2019, Six Flags Qiddiya City, located outside of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, packs 28 rides and attractions into 79 acres (for comparison, Disney California Adventure is 72 acres). The park is owned by Qiddiya Investment Company and operated by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.
Built into the cliffs of the Tuwaiq Mountains of Saudi Arabia, Six Flags Qiddiya City will anchor the massive, under-construction Qiddiya City development.
Six Flags Qiddiya City is divided into six themed lands, all radiating from a central Citadel.
The park’s headliner attraction, Falcons Flight, claimed the title of the world’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster. The multilaunch Intamin coaster is 13,943 feet long with a top speed of 155 mph. The cliffs surrounding the park allow the coaster to reach a peak elevation of nearly 640 feet and a drop of 525 feet. The following freestanding hill stands 535 feet tall above the ground and features a 519-foot drop.

The park is home to eight coasters in total.
Another multilaunch Intamin coaster, Spitfire, breaks its own world record — the world’s tallest inversion at 239 feet.
Manufactured by Vekoma and standing 208 feet tall, Iron Rattler is the tallest tilt coaster in the world.

The park’s other coasters include:
- Colossus — a Great Coasters International (GCI) wooden coaster
- Saw Mill Falls — a Mack water coaster
- Sea Stallion — a Maurer Spike coaster
- Twilight Express — a Vekoma family coaster
The park’s other 20 rides include an array of traditional amusement park rides.
In addition, restaurants, shops and other dining and retail options are scattered throughout the park.

“The following freestanding hill stands 535 feet tall above the ground and features a 519-foot drop.” In the previous sentence, you said nearly 640 feet for the elevation and also said the drop was 525 feet. Which is correct?
High Nick, thanks for your comment. The 525-foot-drop refers to the drop off of the cliff, while the 519-foot drop follows the peak of the 535-foot-tall freestanding hill.
