Flying Fox takes flight at Kentucky Kingdom in 2026
Embark on a suspended coaster adventure over the vibrant Kentucky Farmland.
Following months of construction and anticipation, Kentucky Kingdom has this morning pulled back the covers on their latest aircraft. Flying Fox is here to fly with riders of all ages, soaring against the backdrop of the Louisville skyline in a celebration of local agricultural heritage.

Fellow pilots will join local crop-dusting pilot Jeb Fox as he dares guests to take to the air. The ride experience begins with a queue in the red barn, adorned by hand-painted murals and audio spiels featuring Jeb himself. Riders will then board their twenty-passenger train before embarking on a series of ascents, descents, twists, and turns. The existing Auntie B’s and Scoops concessions will also be integrated within its vicinity.

The coaster itself represents Herschend’s latest partnership with manufacturer Vekoma, who in recent years have supplied both Dragonflier and Big Bear Mountain to Dollywood. This custom-layout Suspended Family Coaster stands 65 feet tall, reaches speeds of 37mph, and runs along 1,380 feet of track over the course of its 63-second duration. Riders can additionally expect a below-ground tunnel just before the finale.

The addition will bring Kentucky Kingdom’s coaster lineup back up to six, the most of any park in the State. Flying Fox will also be their second aviation-themed coaster after Kentucky Flyer, the much-enjoyed family wooden Gravitykraft creation that first took to the skies in 2019. There has been no explicit correlation made between these two attractions.

Herschend began operating Kentucky Kingdom in 2021 and has since worked to redefine the park. This year saw the debut of Discovery Meadows, a new themed area that transformed the back half of the park with fresh rides and a vibrant atmosphere. Flying Fox itself represents yet another step in Herschend’s ten-year masterplan for Kentucky Kingdom and looks forwards to welcoming pilots in Spring 2026.
