Six Flags Great America today announced plans to debut a DC Universe area when the park opens next month.
The rethemed area — currently known as Yankee Harbor — will feature three rethemed attractions:
- The Flash: Vertical Velocity (formerly Vertical Velocity or V2)
- Aquaman Splashdown (formerly Yankee Clipper log flume)
- DC Super-Villains Swing (formerly Whirligig wave swinger)
These three attractions will join DC-themed attractions already operating in the area—Batman: The Ride and Joker.
The new DC Universe area will also offer new dining experiences:
- Steelworks Pub — featuring a new beer garden and patio with a menu including Dole Whip (!), Oreo funnel cake sundaes and buffalo chicken mac and cheese
- Gotham City Snacks
- Central City Snacks
- Captain Cold Ice Cream
DC Universe will also feature new retail experiences, a broad, open midway with photo-op locations featuring iconic DC characters.
