Add This Park to Your Next East Coast Roadtrip

If you find yourself headed on an east coast roadtrip anytime soon, you will have your pick of parks to visit. From Pennsylvania to New Jersey to Virginia, the area is chock-full of theme parks. Wherever you are traveling, chances are you will be within driving distance of this little-known park in Monrovia, Maryland.

Adventure Park USA is a family entertainment center that opened in 2005 and is conveniently located just off the interstate. I’ve driven past this park ten times and finally had a chance to check it out my way back from Six Flags America last week.

Being only an hour away from the DC area, it was an easy pit stop before heading back to Ohio. Adventure Park USA is actually within three hours of 6 major parks and a number of smaller parks in the region!

The park is home to three roller coasters: Wildcat, a Schwarzkopf Wildcat model (which once made its home at Busch Gardens Williamsburg), Wild West Express, a Zamperla Windstorm model, and Tumbleweed, a Miler Manufacturing kiddie coaster.

Unfortunately during my visit Wild West Express was down for maintenance, but I was able to ride both of the other coasters at the park. The Wildcat was running beautifully and was probably the smoothest ride I’ve had on that type of coaster.

The kiddie coaster was also very well maintained (shout out to the ride operator who took the time to let me ride!).

Along with the coasters, the park has an array of outdoor flat rides, go-karts, an arcade, and a BBQ restaurant.

If you are just looking to quickly snag three new coaster credits or to break-up a long east coast roadtrip, don’t forget about Adventure Park USA!

Have you been by this park? What are your thoughts on the coasters?
