Dollywood Launching Drone Light Show Summer 2021

Dollywood today announced plans for a nightly drone 3D light show as part of its upcoming Summer Celebration 2021 event, which runs from June 25-July 31.

Presented by Intel, the multisensory drone light show will give guests a “symphony of light in the sky” with nearly 400 drones animating the night sky. The custom performance will tell a “Dollywood-exclusive story” and will be integrated into a musically choreographed fireworks show to create a visual and audial event of epic proportions.

As part of the Sweet Summer Nights event, a DJ and energetic dancers bring fun to the streets of Wildwood Grove during a 30-minute dance party that ensures every member of the family is on their feet. The party will culminate with the drones launching into the air for the show.

Intel Drone Light Shows have been seen on some of the world’s largest stages, including the Olympics, Coachella, and the Super Bowl.

Intel Drone Light Shows use two types of drones, premium and classic (pictured above).

With the ability to create dynamic shapes and animations, each drone serves as a pixel of light that illuminates the night sky. Purpose-built for light shows, each drone is less than a foot in diameter, weighs less than a pound, and can produce more than four billion color combinations.
