Plopsaland Names Mack Extreme Spinning Coaster

Plopsaland De Panne near De Panne, Belgium today unveiled the name and new renderings for its new-for-2021, double-launch spinning coaster with the help of a well-known Belgium music festival.

The name “The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland” is the result of a creative partnership between the Plopsa Group and Tomorrowland, the long-running Belgian electronic dance music festival, which is held annually in Boom, Belgium.

The Mack “Xtreme Spinning Coaster” — only the second of its kind in the world (Time Traveler at Silver Dollar City is the first) — will stand 108 feet tall with a top speed of roughly 56 mph, thanks to a linear synchronous motor (LSM) launch and a second “booster” LSM launch.

The coaster will stretch just over 3,000 feet in length and will feature five inversions: a heartline roll, a double-inverting banana roll, a vertical loop and a zero-G roll.

Its two trains will each have four, four-seat rotating cars.

The coaster will anchor an entirely new section of the park.

The Plopsaland and Tomorrowland creative themes collaborated to design an area that reflects the immersive atmosphere of the music festival.

The design of the coaster’s station and other structures in the area reflect the “magic” of the Tomorrowland festival experience.

The new area will offer multiple vantage points of the new coaster.

A shop within the new area will likely sell both Plopsaland- and Tomorrowland-branded merchandise.

Tomorrowland will also develop a unique soundtrack for the ride with the help of legendary film score composer Hans Zimmer.
