Busch Gardens Williamsburg Announces New Events; Park Open in All 12 Months of 2021

Typically, Busch Gardens Williamsburg has an operating schedule that sees the park open for the season in mid-March and runs through the end of the year with Christmas Town. However, 2021 is bringing some changes to the park, as they announced today that Busch Gardens Williamsburg will be open in all 12 months this year, with the addition of several new, limited admission special events!

The park will host three separate events in January: the continuing Christmas Celebration, Winter Weekends, and Mardi Gras (which will continue into February!) Reservations are required, and admission is for a four hour block of time: 6:00pm-10:00pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and also 1:00pm-5:00pm on just Saturdays and Sundays.

The Busch Gardens Williamsburg Christmas Celebration continues through January 10. At this event, guests will be able to celebrate the merry season with Christmas lights, trees and holiday décor trimming eight European villages. Families can enjoy new village entertainment, fifteen coasters and rides, a Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt, festive holiday shopping, and sweet culinary offerings.

The following weekend, the park will transform for Winter Weekends, taking place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from January 15-24. This new limited-capacity January event is sure to delight as guests can stroll through villages filled with tons of beautiful lights at night, brave the thrills of thirteen rides including three roller coasters and Sesame Street Forest of Fun, encounter unique animals not normally featured at the park, participate in special kid activities, and view a spectacular fireworks finale on Saturday evenings.

Not to be outdone, the family-friendly Mardi Gras will take place on weekends from January 29-February 28. According to the park, guests won’t have to travel far to indulge and get in the New Orleans spirit as Busch Gardens will let the good times roll with the all-new limited capacity special event, Mardi Gras. Visitors will be transported to where the “Big Easy” meets big thrills as they stroll through eight decorated villages filled with mouthwatering Cajun food, cocktails, and immersive live entertainment and music.

Reservations are available for the Christmas Celebration and Winter Weekends now, and will be available for Mardi Gras soon. Book yours today at the Busch Gardens Website by clicking here: Christmas Celebration | Winter Weekends.

We know we’re a roller coaster website, and you’ll be able to catch four of Busch Gardens coasters during these events: Alpengeist, Verbolten, InvadR and Grover’s Alpine Express. Please note that if temperatures are low, certain rides can’t operate. Busch Gardens unfortunately can’t control the weather!

Then, beginning March 5, Busch Gardens Williamsburg will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day all-month long in Kilarney Village. Full details aren’t yet available, but guests are promised Irish spirit, luck and celebration throughout Kilarney Village!

The year continues with Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s traditional event line-up, including the Food & Wine Festival and Sesame Street Kids Weekends in the Spring, Summer Nights in the Summer, Bier Fest bridging the gap between Summer and Fall, and then Howl-O-Scream and the Count’s Spooktacular in the Halloween season!

Personally, we’re thrilled that the park is going to continue these limited-admission events throughout the year!
