The safari area used to operate as a self-drive-through from 1974 to 2012. The part later switched to guided truck tours of its safari area in 2013. More than 10 million visitors had driven through the Safari upon its closing, and now, they’ll have the chance to do it again.

Guests will have the opportunity to see 1,200 animals, all from their car! But, of course following the Six Flags guidelines, Guests will have to make advance reservations. This decision follows Gov. Phil Murphy’s May 13 executive order allowing car gatherings under social distancing guidelines.

Regardless of membership, season pass, or day pass, everyone will be required to make reservations. Additional information on Six Flags’ reservations can be found here

In a recent press release, the park is finalizing new safety procedures for its guests, employees, and animals. So far, no opening date has been set for Six Flags Great Adventure and Hurricane Harbor water park.

An opening date for the safari drive-through has not been announced yet. More information is to come later.
