First look at new Cedar Point book Rolling Through the Years

Looking for a Cedar Point book? There have been some good ones published over the years. Dick Kinzel’s book tells how he built the first 200, 300, and 400 foot tall roller coasters. More recently John Hildebrant’s memoir, Always Cedar Point, was the best inside look yet at the day-to-day operations of the park. But both of these books mostly just explored the time periods the authors were involved with the park, not a thorough history.

Enter Rolling Through the Years: A Cedar Point Atlas and Chronology. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the most detailed Cedar Point book yet written.

This book has everything. Literally. Want details of what changed inside the park year by year? It’s in there!

The first half of the book is grouped by category: every previous ride that used to be at Cedar Point, every current ride, and stats on every roller coaster. The second half is arranged chronologically and details for every season include: opening day, closing day, rides opening, rides closing, show schedules, ticket prices, major events, and the map and artwork for that year.

Here are just a few features of this incredibly detailed Cedar Point book:

  • 12″ by 18″ – this book is massive in size!
  • Weighs 9.4 pounds (yes, I weighed it on my bathroom scale)
  • Hardcover. The cover on the limited edition is outstanding.
  • 396 pages
  • Over 1,200 images
  • 75 maps
