Iron Gwazi Construction Update

Following the 2019 IAAPA Expo, where we saw the unveiling of Iron Gwazi’s crocodile-themed lead car, we headed south down Interstate 4 to Busch Gardens Tampa last Friday, to check on the construction progress of the latest Rocky Mountain Construction conversion.

Here’s a little of what we saw!

Track was being installed on the steep lift hill.

The vibrant purple track was peeking out through the trees that surrounded the former Gwazi Park.

Purple accents on the station match the unique purple RMC track.

There was still plenty of structure awaiting track.

Iron Gwazi is looking extremely twisted!

Later in the afternoon, a rail had been installed on the lift.

I’m not sure if you’ll ever be able to tell which way is up while riding Iron Gwazi.

Station work in progress.

What goes up, must come down.

Busch Gardens’ ChristmasTown Village, in the former Gwazi Park, allowed for some unique views.

However, the real star of the show was the angles that could be captured from Busch Gardens’ Skyride.

We can’t wait for the Busch Gardens Skyline to be forever changed once Iron Gwazi is complete!
