Six Flags Announces Water Park Additions For Six Properties

Nearly every park in the Six Flags family received something as part of the chain’s 2020 announcements today, and the water parks were not left out! Six Flags Darien Lake, Frontier City’s Whitewater Bay, Hurricane Harbor Arlington, Hurricane Harbor Phoenix, Six Flags Whitewater in Georgia, and Hurricane Harbor Rockford in Illinois ALL announced water park additions.

Six Flags Darien Lake

At 60 feet tall, the Wahoo Wave will be one of the park’s tallest water rides. Riders first go through a hairpin turn, then get swept up into a corkscrew turn. Before they see it coming, the riders are hit with a three-story drop – which is destined to be the riders’ favorite part.

Hurricane Harbor (formerly Whitewater Bay) – Oklahoma City, OK

The largest water park in Oklahoma is re-branding to Hurricane Harbor and debuting a new high-speed racing complex: Wahoo Racer—a multi-lane water racing slide that gives riders two uniquely different experiences. The park will also receive numerous upgrades and bright, tropical theming throughout the 25-acre property.

Hurricane Harbor Arlington – Texas

Hurricane Harbor Arlington is introducing Banzai Pipeline, a six-slide complex, featuring multiple “drop-pod” slides.

Hurricane Harbor Phoenix – Arizona

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix is about to get even cooler with a major expansion in 2020. The all-new Paradise Island is the perfect oasis — there’s something for everyone!

Paradise Island will feature a 12,000 square foot activity pool with over a quarter of a million gallons of water and multiple interactive elements and areas. The entire expansion covers nearly 42,000 square feet and includes extensive lounge seating, comfortable shade, and new restrooms.

Six Flags Whitewater – Georgia

Python Plunge is a striking five-story water slide with multiple swirling discs and adrenaline-pumping drops.

Hurricane Harbor Rockford

Introducing the Midwest’s first and only tailspin water slide, Tidal Wave! As Hurricane Harbor Rockford’s 12th water slide, Tidal Wave will send riders gliding through three high-speed turns, giving the experience of limitless wave riding. Reaching speeds of up to 15 miles per hour, riders will be awestruck by the radiant Aqualucent special effects during their 43 foot descent.
